Nahid (Persian: ناهید‎, meaning "Venus") is an Iranian solar-powered communication satellite^[1][2][3][4] with a planned launch to low Earth orbit in September 2019.^[5] Apparently, a major accident occurred on the launch pad during launch preparation on 29 August 2019. The fate of the satellite is unknown.^[6].
