Dubai: As many as 1,800 lucky people will be able to celebrate the New Year by walking on a 150-metre-high glass floor that is 48 floors above the ground atop the UAE’s first-ever Sky Bridge.

The Dubai Frame, a 150-meter-tall and 93-meter-wide hollow, gold-plated observation tower, officially opened in the city's Zabeel Park earlier this month. Believed to be the world's largest picture frame, its glass-bottomed "sky deck" provides a 360-degree view of both old and new Dubai.

Where the earth meets the sky

The emblem’s design has its roots in Hangul, with the shapes that form the logo stemming from the first consonants of each syllable in the word “PyeongChang” when it is written in Hangul. The first character in the emblem  also represents a gathering place where the three elements of Cheon-ji-in – heaven, earth, and human – are in harmony. The second character symbolises snow and ice, as well as the athletes’ stellar performances. The Past: When you enter the mezzanine floor, you are taken on a journey back to the old days of Dubai through audio, visual and sensory projections. You not only be able to see the past of Dubai but also experience it through your senses. Apart from the visual imagery, the mood of the old city is set by using sounds, smells, mist effects, and motion.
The Present: Once you have enjoyed the past of the city, you get into the elevator which takes you to the bridge of the frame which also acts as an observation deck. The bridge, also known as the Sky Deck, gives you a 360^o view of the city. But that is not the best part! The Frame is placed in such a way that while one side offers you the view of the old Dubai, the other part shows you the sights of the new Dubai. On the northern side of the frame is the magnificent Old Dubai where you would be able to see the dhow-studded Dubai Creek, Deira, Bur Dubai, Umm Hurair, and Karama, etc. Turn to the southern side and you would be able to see the sparkling modern Dubai, right from the tallest tower to the tallest residential building, the splendid Dubai marina and much more. To enhance the experience of the visitors, the bridge offers amplified reality activated screens which allow them to identify the important buildings and also learn about their interesting facts and other features. Another highlight of the Sky deck is that it has a 25 sqm glass panel that gives you the chance to see directly below you. The glass panel is crack-proof and has been made with the best quality materials.

The Future: The last leg of the Dubai Frame is where you get to see the future of the city. After exiting the elevator that takes you back to the mezzanine floor, you have to pass through a swirling tunnel, known as Vortex Tunnel, which takes you fifty years into the future. With the help of special light and sound effects, you would be able to see what lies in the future of Dubai. About the celebrationThe celebration that honors the memory of the dead takes place on November 1-2 of every year in Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras, and El Salvador. CAIRO – 1 July 2018: Egyptian archaeologists uncovered a statuette of Osiris while performing restoration works on the eastern side of the King Djoser Step Pyramid in Saqqara. 

 A 30-ton archeological sarcophagus was also found below a building in Alexandria governorate, Egypt, by the security forces on Sunday.

the statue depicts Osiris standing and holding a feather in one hand and a scepter in the other, wearing a crown with two feathers and two horns. The statue is 63 cm high and approximately 15 cm in width.

Meanwhile, another archaeological mission affiliated to the Supreme Council of Antiquities discovered an ancient cemetery dating back to the Ptolemaic era, while digging on al-Karamily Street in Sidi Gaber area east of Alexandria.

Populous Rostov Stadium
