Populous was recently selected as the designers of the new Rostov Stadium in Russia, which will be the fourth Populous-designed stadium in the country to be used for the 2018 World Cup, together with Kazan, Saransk, Sochi. Part of an overall landscape, this urban design is planned for the whole region. It is inspired by the ancient earthworks along the banks of the river, the Kurgans. These archaeological mounds of earth were used for burial pagan rituals, creating major forms in the landscape.

Benben was the mound that arose from the primordial waters Nu upon which the creator god Atum settled in the creation story of the Heliopolitan form of Ancient Egyptian religion. The Benben stone (also known as a pyramidion) is the top stone of the Egyptian pyramid. It is also related to the Obelisk.
The Benben stone, named after the mound, was a sacred stone in the temple of Ra at Heliopolis (Egyptian: Annu or Iunu). It was the location on which the first rays of the sun fell. It is thought to have been the prototype for later obelisks, and the capstones of the great pyramids were based on its design. The capstone or the tip of the pyramid is also called pyramidion. In ancient Egypt, these were probably gilded, so they shone in sunlight.
The pyramidion is also called 'Benben stone'. Many such Benben stones, often carved with images and inscriptions, are found in museums around the world.

The bird deity Bennu, which was probably the inspiration for the phoenix, was venerated at Heliopolis, where it was said to be living on the Benben stone or on the holy willow tree.

Luzhniki even means "the meadows" as previously noted which ties in with Aaru which has been a theme as well with the Phoenix!
Sekhet-Aaru or the Egyptian reed fields, are the heavenly paradise, where Osiris rules, since he became part of the Egyptian pantheon and displaced Anubis in the Ogdoad tradition. It has been described as the ka (a part of the soul) of the Nile Delta.
Egypt - In old Egyptian beliefs, the meadowland is called Aaru, the reed-fields of ideal hunting and fishing grounds where the dead lived after judgment.

To the Egyptians, the equivalent of the Greeks’ Elysian Fields was the ‘Field of Reeds’.
This place was believed to be almost an exact replica – though perhaps more lush and plentifully stocked with life – as the Egyptians’ own surrounding with waterways, fields of rushes and reeds, corn growing and the normal agricultural pursuits of life.
